23W Spotlight: Enya Jasinski
One of the most common question we are asked is ‘if our programming is suited to absolutely beginners to weight training’?
Meet Enya! Enya started at 23W with no training experience or particular motivation to workout. Over the last 8 months, she has made 23W and training an important part of her life. She trains most days before going into work and is not only enjoying the physical benefits of feeling stronger and leaner, she recognises that regular training helps her to feel more relaxed and happier in general.
Enya’s story highlights that you do not need to know how to lift before getting started with us! All you need to do is show up and we will take care of the rest!
How long have you been working with 23W?
I started at 23W in May 2019, so it’s been 8 months now!
What got you started on this journey?
I wanted to join a gym but felt that I had no idea what I was doing so when I heard about 23W and the classes they run it sounded like it would a great place for me to begin my fitness journey and gain confidence.
What was your biggest challenge(s) at the start?
I was actually really surprised about how easy it was once I joined. I never really had the motivation to work out before this and didn’t think I would enjoy exercising as much as I actually do. It was easy for me to simply show up and the coaches would tell you what to do, so you never had to think about what you’d be training that day.
What was your goal?
I guess my goal was to just to become a healthier and fitter person.
What result did you achieve?
I am always excited when I go up in my weights and even when I’m sore because I know that I’ve been working hard. I was surprised when I put together my recent progress photos to see that awesome change that I’ve been working hard towards.
How have you changed?
I feel happier, healthier and more confident. I never thought I would be that person but I really do love working out now. I find that I go a little bit crazy if I go too long without going to the gym. I’ve found that it’s really rare that I don’t find the motivation to workout. I love to come to the gym because after a session, I feel happier and more relaxed.
What were your biggest challenges going through the process?
One of my biggest challenges was committing to eating healthier. During the 8 week challenge I decided it was time to learn how to track macros, and like everyone told me, it made a huge difference in the end.
I still often struggle on weekend and in social situations but I’ve come a long way when it comes to self control and my knowledge of how to fuel my body. It has been hard at times but overall it’s been exciting and I’m really proud of myself.
What were your learnings?
I’ve not only learnt about eating habits, food, Marcos etc. but I have learnt a lot about my body and how to make it happy physically and mentally.
What was it like working with the 23W and the other girls in the community?
It’s been really fun, I’ve always felt supported, not only with my workouts but all the girls are so supportive about anything that might be going on in your personal life as well.
It’s an amazing community to be apart of. Sometimes I’ll decide to lift a little heavier which might inspire the other girls that I work out with to lift heavier too and push themselves, which is a great feeling.
What’s next for you?
I’m looking forward to the future, to learning more and becoming an ever more fitter and healthier woman! I love that, thanks to 23W, working out has become something that I truely love!
