23W Spotlight: Maryanna Bousattout

By Ange
When we contemplate the limiting factors that holds us back from reaching our goals, like a lack of time, sleep deprivation, stress and the need to put others first, our gorgeous mama’s cope the full brunt!

We are so excited to share the amazing transformation of W Squad super mum, Maryanna and winner of our 8 week summer challenge. This mother of three, knew that it was time to make a change in her life to be the role model and inspiration she wanted to be to her boys.

We are so proud of what Maryanna was able to achieve over 8 short weeks and excited for what the future holds for this pocket rocket! More impressively, has made the commitment that this is only the start of her fitness journey- be sure to watch this space for more updates on this impressive lady!

1. What was your goal over the 8 week challenge? And what were you able to achieve?

My main goal for the 8 week challenge was to lose anywhere from 4-8 kg and deadlift 50kg.

I lost a total of 9.6kg which far exceeded my expectations. Also I did achieve the 50kg deadlift, however after learnt the importance of gradually building technique first alongside a solid base of strength.

3. What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my perseverance. I never believed I was strong enough or capable of achieving such results in a short period of time.

4. What process did you use to get results?

I trained hard, which at times was difficult being a mum of 3 boys. I also walked my son to and from school every day and made the biggest change of all,  I cut out all processed food, sugar and dairy. It was definitely extreme but not only did it help me lose the weight more quickly, it gave me increased energy to run around with my kids and encouragement to keep going.

 5. What did you typical day of eating look like?

200g of cooked protein, all the green vegetables I wanted, black coffee and 3lt of water per day.  I was also fasting from 10pm until midday.

6. What do you enjoy the most about training with 23W?

The women. I’ve trained with other trainers before and although you can form friendships this is completely different. We are all women, supporting each other, pushing each other and motivating one another to never give up.

 6. What advice would you give other women looking to transform their bodies?

Despite your challenges, and there will be challenges, always turn to those around you to push yourself. Learn to take care of yourself too. It is easy to fall into the trap when taking care of others, to lose yourself in the process also.

7. What is your biggest health and fitness tip (what works for you)?

The biggest tip I could give anyone is have some support outside of the 23w to help keep you motivated. The hardest part is the first step forward, the rest get easier with every achievement.
