Let’s cut to the chase. Mondays are make-or-break, and if you’re anything like me—a busy mum and business owner—you know there’s no hitting snooze on that reality. That’s why my Sundays are sacred. They’re my secret weapon for setting up a week where I’m in control. I’m here to break down my top Sunday habits that keep me two steps ahead of chaos, from meal prep to metric reviews and never skipping that Monday workout.

Ready? Let’s dive in.

1. Strategic Meal Planning:

Here’s the deal with meals: If you’re not planning, you’re probably scrambling. And who has time for that? Not me! Sundays are for getting my food game right. I batch cook like a boss because come Monday—my marathon day—I need to be fueled and focused, not fumbling through the fridge. Dinner’s done before I hit the sheets on Sunday night, which means more time for the heavy lifting come Monday morning.

2. Weekly Review of Metrics:

Now, let’s talk about the grind—the numbers. Some folks preach work-life balance, but let’s be real: When you’re building a business and juggling kids, you better be ready to blur those lines. Every Sunday, I carve out time to pore over the past week’s KPI and metrics. It’s non-negotiable. Why? Because in a small business, especially with a lean team, there’s no room for just winging it. 

3. Family Time:

But hey, let’s not forget to hit pause. It’s crucial to carve out quality time with the fam. Ofcourse this looks different each week. Whether we’re out for a stroll, baking, arts and crafts, this time is non-negotiable. 

4. Personal Development Time:

Let’s get personal about growth. I love the weekend for reviewing a professional development course, flipping through a strategic read, or catching a podcast; I’m doing it while I’m on the move—yes, even while cleaning sometimes! It keeps me sharp, inspired, and always a step ahead, both professionally and personally. 

5. Commitment to Training:

And here’s my final non-negotiable: a Monday workout. I can’t remember the last time I missed one. Why? Because this sets my tone for the week. It’s not just about physical fitness; it’s about mental toughness. Kicking off with a workout means I’m geared up to win my week right from the get-go. It’s about discipline, and trust me, that discipline ripples through everything I do.

 

So, here’s the bottom line: My week starts on Sunday. With meal prepping, diving deep into our business metrics, family and professional development time and hitting the gym hard first thing Monday morning, I’m not just ready for the week—I’m ahead of it. These aren’t just chores on a list; they’re commitments to how I operate at peak and balance this crazy life on my terms.
