Love it or hate it, being pregnant is a crazy ride!
Heading back into my second pregnancy reminds me of the incredible and massive changes the body needs to go through to give life.
The feeling of quite excitement is quickly replaced by overwhelming exhaustion as I am left clinging to a cheese toastie to keep the nausea at bay.
I am glad to report that the first trimester woes have started to pass, my tummy is starting to round out (although much faster than with baby number 1) and I am excited to see how my 14 months of postpartum training will help me get through this pregnancy.
No doubt it will be different. And every woman’s journey is. But I am always left feeling a little perplexed about the lack of readily available information that exist in this space for active women.
This was the inspiration behind 23W becoming a women’s focused training space and our specialised MOM (mums on the move) postpartum exercise program to help new mums to return back to exercise.
We want to equip women with all the information they need to feel empowered, stay active and feel in charge of their body. As a coach and a trainer, I am always looking for new ways to educate and inspire so I thought what could be better than keeping a weekly vlog style diary of my pregnancy journey.
I certainly never imagined myself as a regular ‘Youtuber’ or content creator. But last year forced all of us to adapt in ways to not only survive but thrive. Under the guidance of my hubby, Jeremy Drake, I purchased my own A6400, a microphone, ring light and tripod and started filming myself more often. I learnt how to use Premier to cut and edit and actually really started to enjoy learning new techniques and being able to connect with more people in our community. I loved documenting my 8 week challenge involvement to consciously and sustainability loose weight and rebuild my strength.
