It is not often that I am on the other side of the ‘mat’ and being led through a workout. It was an amazing experience to be invited to participate in the Wellness Bloggers’ Morning with the incredible The Women’s Bootcamp Co.
Bright and early on Sunday morning, Alexandra, the beautiful face behind The Women’s Bootcamp Co (TWBC), was ready to lead a dozen of Melbourne’s wellness bloggers through a challenging and fun workout along the Bay. I have to admit that I was a little nervous that I was going to be left in a trail of smoke, after months of heavy weight training… My aerobic base is certainly not what it used to be. And while I definitely kept up, I am not going to lie, the session was a killer!
Alex’s session put all of us in the zone (OMG those abs to finish…)! Her bubbly, energetic and fun personality made it easy to see how TWBC has attracted women in their droves since establishment only several months ago. Who would not want to train in this friendly atmosphere where the motto is simple; positivity, humour and health.
Our morning workout was followed by a dynamic yoga flow, some more happy snaps and a much needed coffee. A highlight of the morning was the time Alex took to lead us through a mini mindset and wellness workshop, again proving capacity as more than your average PT.
This session reminded me of the areas of my life I am most passionate about and the importance of continued growth and development. Too often people sit back and let opportunities pass them by, or worse opt out because they feel they are ‘not good enough’, ‘experienced enough’, ‘worth enough’. I am coming to the end of ‘Lean In’, the thought provoking book by Sheryl Sandberg, which challenges us to change the conversation from what women can’t do to what we can do, and serves as a rallying cry for us to work together to create a more equal world.
The Wellness Blogger’s Morning was created for this purpose, a fabulous way for likeminded women to get together, to collaborate, to share in the joy of movement and personal and professional success.
I would like to thank The Women’s Bootcamp Co and Alex for the invitation and the very talented photographer, Carly Ravenhall for their generosity in sharing so many beautiful images of the day.
