Introducing Angelene Alex: Our Newest Strength Coach and Trainer
By Ange
We are thrilled to announce that we have a new Ange in town!
Ange is our newest recruit to join our amazing 23W team and will be around the studio on a Thursday and Friday morning.Â
Angelene has been passionate about strength training for over 10 years, developing a deep connection to fitness. Starting her career as a primary teacher, she enjoyed helping others learn and grow. However, her passion shifted towards health and fitness, now, pursuing a career in this field while still working in schools to present nutrition and S&C programs to youth athletes.
Ange holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutrition and Exercise. She has a solid foundation in exercise science and is a registered and certified sports nutritionist. Growing up, Ange was always active, participating in sports like soccer, hockey, netball, and tennis. Her love for training and nutrition has only grown, even through a few injuries along the way! Recently, Ange earned her Girls Gone Strong Coaching Certificate, where she focuses on guiding women in both strength and nutrition. She’s excited to combine her expertise in nutrition and fitness, helping others fuel their bodies and achieve their goals.
Rapid Fire: Get to know Ange in 6 hard-hitting questions
When you’re not working, or training like a demon how do you like to spend your time? When I’m not working or training, I love to bake! I used to run a catering business during my first teaching degree, making everything from wedding cakes to baby shower treats. It was exhausting but so much fun. These days, I bake for fun—much less pressure and a great way to switch off!
What’s your favourite 90’s show? Friends, hands down! It’s my absolute comfort show. Whether I’m cooking, feeling down or just need a bit of background entertainment, I can always count on it. Even though I’ve probably watched the whole show from start to end over 8 times, I love finding new details I hadn’t noticed before!
What’s the first concert you attended? Oh boy… One Direction in 2012. I honestly thought they would notice me sitting on the opposite side of Hisense Arena
What’s your dream job? I’m actually on track to living my dream job right now! I love working with youth athletes, helping them develop a positive relationship with food and learning how to fuel their bodies for their day to day and sport. Watching them grow and succeed is incredibly fulfilling. On the other hand… I’d also love a job that involves travelling—getting paid to explore new places would be a lovely little bonus!Â
What’s the best dress-up costume you’ve ever had? One year, a student told me that I reminded them of The Trunchbull. So for Book Week I of course had to dress the part.
