The Best Raw Snickers Slice

Are you a raw treats foodie? It is no secret that ditching refined ingredients and replacing them with wholesome ones in their original states is good for you. But are they truely guilt free?

Raw treats were made popular by people looking for incredible tasting treats that had certain diet restriction. But just because it is gluten, dairy and refined sugar free does not mean that they are not loaded with calories.

So be warned. The recipe below is dangerous! Not only does it taste phenomenal, it is also quite high in calories per slice. But life is about moderation and food is meant to be shared and enjoyed. Keep this super easy recipe on file next time you want to wow your friends or need to whip something up for a dinner or kids party. They will not fail to disappoint.

The good news, a little goes a long way. These treats are super satisfying and you can feel as if you are indulging with only a few squares.

Raw Snickers Slice-  Approximately 20 slices

Ingredients:

  • 400g Pitted Dates
  • 100g Natural Peanut Butter
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 75g Unsalted Roasted Peanuts
  • 1 Cup Puffed Rice or Quinoa
  • 1/3 Cup Coconut Oil (Melted)
  • 1/3 Cup Cocoa
  • 2 Tbls Honey

Method:

  1. Blend dates and a dash of hot water in a blender. Add the peanut butter and blend until combined.
  2. Add Vanilla and whole peanuts and pulse until just combined.
  3. Pull into a bowl and stir in puffed rice. Press into a tin (lined with baking paper)
  4. Combine melted coconut oil, cocoa and honey in a seperate bowl. Once smooth, pour over the slice and refrigerate for several hours before cutting when set.
